I read voraciously. I don’t even dare count how many books I read
last year, because it would highlight how much else I didn’t do. I read all genres, and enjoy most of what I
read.
Joining blog tours, like this one, has
opened my mind to historical fiction, which wouldn’t have been on my radar
before.
The truth is a book that captures your
mind, and transports you to other worlds is a great book. The Girl from Paris is one of these
books. I related to the main character
Vianne as she felt herself pulled between her dreams and desires, and her obligations. At her core Vianne is a creative, making things
beautiful is her reason for being. But
she is also a sister, a daughter, and a friend.
War is something that I have not experienced
in my lifetime, but this book which takes place between the two world wars, clearly
illustrates the hangover, the pain and the long term effect that tragedy has on
us and our lives.
Without giving too many spoilers, I love
how the title has more than one meaning ….
