Be Careful What you Listen To …..

Whoa-Town is a boy band, a very successful boy band, put together by music mogul Rick Reeves. The Future Stars of America is the talent competition everyone wants to enter and these five lucky singers have won a place in the boy band that will change the world.
Everyone loves them, especially the teen demographic. Sounds familiar? Perhaps but this is a dark book full of twists and turns that will keep you reading into the night.
Katherine is a young journalist, she is a survivor in a post-apocalyptic world. Almost everyone is dead and everyone who has survived is living in fear and desperation. What caused this pandemic? Could it be boy band music? An earworm with the power to change the world.

Is the Drop deadly?

Katherine has nursed her father through The Drop – and it was horrific. The Drop was first a catchy song sung by five beautiful young boys, but people are getting sick, and the link between the Whoa-Town song and an illness that progresses in strange stages that ultimately lead to death is made. The Drop is now a life limiting condition. When the Drop was first released, Katherine was a college student with her life ahead of her. Her biggest problem was dealing with a lecturer who wanted a bit more in return for good grades. She is now an intrepid journalist working for an online publication The Daily Solicitor.
Sebastian Dowell is the owner of The Daily Solicitor and between himself and Katherine they are determined to find out what and who really caused the drop and attempted to kill the world.

Not my usual genre but …..

This would not be a genre that I normally read, but I found myself absolutely hooked. I couldn’t put the book down. The book is cleverly written using a series of reports that complement a strong plot line which has Katherine looking back at what happened, on her mission to find the truth and finally there is a sneak peek into life after the pandemic. I won’t say any more about that because I don’t want to spoil the book for you. As Katherine travels America and the world researching the band members, Travis Lafferty, Naoko Sheng, Ashton Uribe, Alec Eastwood and Sterling Robinson the story unfolds offering is a peek into their lives, traumas and talents. Who among them had the power to create music that could kill? Or was it their Manager and mastermind of the group Rick Reeves.
I love being a book blogger, because it takes me out of my comfort zone. It prompts me to read things I would have rejected as not being my thing. I am delighted that I read this well written book by native American author Jacy Morris. He is a master story teller.

There was a huge part of me fighting against turning anything like fifty. It happens though and there is nothing we can do to fight it. Well we can’t fight the chronology of years and minutes ticking by but we can stay fabulous. I try to be fabulous, despite having a few things I am fighting against like RA, Diabetes and Pernicious Anaemia. This blog is simply about me embracing life. Food, make-up, fashion and more. My trials and tribulations. I hope you enjoy!
